Reefview Apartments Cades Bay, Antigua, West Indies

GUESTBOOK

Here's what some of our guests had to say about their stay at ReefView.

"HUMMINGBIRD PARADISE FOR NATURE LOVERS"

"You will definitely feel like this is your own home when you stay at the “Reef View Apartments” in Cades Bay. The house is in excellent condition, spotless and well maintained, well ventilated. All utilities are in perfect working order and Nick and Karoll attend to your every need by phoning to book your car rental, dinner reservations or days excursion packages. The garden surrounding the villa is unbelievable, with tropical flowers in abundance and numerous kinds of birds surrounding you.

I would rather stay at this charming house in the countryside, than any of the over priced resorts on the Island which we discovered to be less friendly and quite impersonal. The house is in the valley, surrounded by the Shekerley Mountains, but only moments walk to the long sandy beach. I highly recommend these apartments to anyone who is looking for the real Antigua experience. Enjoy!!"

“GET AWAY FROM IT ALL!”

We stayed in the Penthouse Apartment in Jan 08 and would like to thank you both for making our stay so memorable. The apartment was lovely, very spacious and airy with superb sea views. We were made to feel very welcome and have lovely memories of sitting out eating dinner with yourselves and the other guests, not forgetting “Jabba” and “Ozzie” who kept us entertained. The location was ideal for us and we were able to explore the island using the local bus and a hire car.

"YOU'LL WANT TO KEEP IT A SECRET."

This property was accurately described, clean and well maintained. The location away from the tourist areas, the long deserted beach on which to stroll, and the convenient bus transportation to the 'tourist' areas and restaurants, were added bonuses. Karoll greeting us at the airport was the start of an excellent holiday. She and Nick were most hospitable, and catered excellent meals at a very reasonable extra cost.

Karoll knew the best local restaurants, beaches and sights, she made sure we got to see what we wanted. Nick's snorkeling expedition was truly spectacular. If you want to get away from the crowd, but not the conveniences, this place is great and so are the friendly couple who run it.

“TROPICAL PARADISE AT REEFVIEW APARTMENTS”

I would highly recommend staying at Reef View Apartments in Cades Bay Antigua. Karoll and Nick are wonderful, thoughtful hosts and the accommodation is cozy, clean and bright! Absolutely everything they advertise in their ad is spot on!! Karoll is an awesome cook and will prepare a gourmet Caribbean treat for you if you let her know what kind of food you're looking for. These apartments are for people who want a taste of the real Caribbean experience. A house in the country snuggled in the lush tropical jungle and only a short stroll to the beach. You will be overwhelmed by the huge selection of flowers, fruit trees and plants in the gardens surrounding the house.

The local neighbors are kind and helpful. The day after we arrived Karoll took us on a tour of the beach outside the apartments. Along the beach we discovered numerous starfish, an octopus, sea conchs, pelicans, hummingbirds and other brightly colored birds. Later that day up on the road outside our apartment we waited for only a few minutes before the local bus took us into Jolly Harbour where we were treated to one of the most beautiful beaches you could ever hope to find.

There was everything we needed at the Harbour including a supermarket to stock up on our food for the day, a dive shop where you can take up scuba diving, and a restaurant where you can warm your feet in the sand while you are waiting for your coconut prawns to arrive. With Karoll's help and extensive knowledge of the Island, we spent everyday doing something fun and memorable. There are such a lot of things to do on Antigua I feel you need at least 2 weeks to stay there to truly experience the Caribbean way of life. We stayed for 5! I'm glad I chose this place to stay and can't think of a nicer way to spend a holiday.
Thanks Karoll and Nick - you are both great Ambassadors for the Island!!

“GREAT VALUE FOR FAMILIES”

"My family (husband 2 boys 8, 12) traveled to Antigua for 2 weeks 28th April - 12th May and stayed in the Garden Apartment... I would highly recommend Reefview Apartments: perfect for families, close to a safe beach and near some of the best beaches, lots of beach equipment to use; the Kayaks were great fun, Nick taught the kids to snorkel and then use the 007 seadoos which they loved, Eating breakfast on the patio and look at the blue sea and seeing all the hummingbirds was beautiful, bus service cheap and reliable, reasonably priced eateries nearby, the apartment was clean comfortable and well equipped."

”FANTASTIC BOAT TRIP!”

"My sister and I stayed at Reefview Apartments and having Nick & Karoll as our hosts was like having our own personal concierge. They cooked a super BBQ the first night there, and they made us feel like family coming in for a visit. We booked a snorkeling trip with Captain Nick, which was SO much better than getting on a boat with a ton of other tourists. Thanks so much for a wonderful time!"

"PEACEFUL RETREAT”

"I visited Antigua in mid-March '08 and had the pleasure of staying at "Reefview" with Karoll & Nick. The upstairs Penthouse apartment is spacious and very well maintained. I was looking for a quiet location away from the bustle of a resort but close to the beach and it was ideal. I am happy to recommend this property but the big deal about this place is the friendliness, care and attention to detail, including wonderful food, prepared by Karoll and Nick.

“FABULOUS SNORKELLING ADVENTURE”

"We visited Antigua the first 2 weeks of March and were graciously greeted at the airport as arranged with Karoll. We stayed at another venue for one night and had a great visit with good friends of Karoll and Nick, who treated us as VIP’s. Our accommodations at the Penthouse were clean and comfortable and everything as advertised on the web site. It was fun being part of the local neighborhood and hanging out with the locals. The beach was a close walk and the Kayaking adventure through the Mangroves was wonderful!

Nick took us on a fabulous snorkeling adventure where we experienced a ton of marine life, coral, turtles, stingrays, lobster nests and even found an ancient Spanish anchor. Karoll was always available to help with suggestions and calling for reservations at restaurants, which have fabulous food and views. The Canopy Zip line tour in the Rain Forest is a must! and renting an affordable set of wheels.

Driving is an adventure not for the faint of heart but great once you get tuned in to the local driving habits. The lush tropical Island and the long beautiful beaches plus the aqua blue water makes Antigua a must for beach lovers and Buffet Parrotheads to feel a touch of your own Margaritaville atmosphere.

“DREAM VACATION COMES TRUE”!

Family of four winter cold people from Norway were looking for a spot in the sun on a Caribbean island, and found exactly what we were looking for at ReefView apartments on Antigua. We wanted a nice clean apartment away from the big resorts, close to the sea and reasonably priced. We found this and more. Elise, 8 years old, walked the 150 meter or so down the track and a perfectly natural beach opened up behind trees full of birds, saw loads of big and small fish, shells, pelicans above and stepped into shallow waters inside the reef . Not your typical picture perfect tropical beach, but we could easily find them not far from the apartment with a rental car or by bus reach all of them.

We felt part of a local community and were friendly greeted by the neighbors mornings and afternoons. Karoll gives you up to date information, talks happily - always with a smile. Nick is in full control of the housing, and keeps everything in order. Jogging past the nearby pineapple farm in the morning before the heat comes is recommended. Great hiking opportunities in the tropical hills behind.

Coming home, that is what it felt like, after a long day at the different beaches , Nick or Karoll met us with a friendly smile and always helpful if anything was needed. I especially want to highlight the boat trip with Nick. We had great snorkeling trip and a perfect day at sea. Walking in Karoll's tropical garden gave us insight to the humming birds beautiful life.
It is a very cozy place. Nick and Karoll are very honest and good people, and we experienced all Antigua has to offer with this as a base. We recommend it highly, and they are the best hosts for your tropical dream vacation on Antigua !

“A HIDDEN GEM”

A great place on a great Island. Perfect location to get to know the countryside and locals. Much better than being again in one of the "all look the same" type of resorts. You may hear the noises of birds, donkeys and dogs instead of the humming of 200 A/C-devices! Don´t miss the barbecue and drinks Karoll and Nick prepare. It will go with all the information you need for a nice holiday. Two weeks were not enough and we will be back soon.
