Reefview Apartments Cades Bay, Antigua, West Indies

Thank you to Nick and Karoll for making our first trip to Antigua a memorable experience! Jonathan was filming a documentary, but the only thing he truly cared about was FISHING! He caught loads of snapper - but his best was a 3ft Tarpon – THANKYOU!

"Stayed with the wonderfully fabulous Karoll and local ‘crocodile dundee’ Nick during the sailing week this year, and had an awesome time. The apartment is located on the south west corner of the island, near to local hot spot Jolly Harbour (but far enough away to remain secluded) and a stone's throw from beautiful sandy beaches. We hired a car for the week which is essential to see the island (especially half moon bay!).

Nick and Karoll are incredibly welcoming, provide fantastic facilities and are on call, and here's what makes the difference, if you want them to be. They'll disappear into the shadows if you want to go your own way for the week, or pop up at a moments notice if you need anything (car rental, fishing trips which are bloody marvelous, beach equipment, restaurant\bar recommendations, rum in your room...). Absolutely great, will definitely return next year, maybe see you there!"

"Rarely do I do much right in life, but when I booked our stay at Reefview, I hit gold!”

My girlfriend and I stayed there for a week at the end of June 2008. It was perfect for our wants: great living space, close to the beach, away from the glitz of a 'plastic-fantastic' resort and most importantly, we acquired from Karoll and Nick a proper insight to the island, its wildlife and marine environment.

Also, they lay on great food if ever you want them to cook something up for you (BBQ on our 1st night, picnic lunch for days out exploring the island and homemade blueberry muffins for breakfast as often as we could!

Our one regret was that we failed to take-up more of the activities that are offered at Reefview, probably because Karoll and Nick are so non-pushy! They have all the toys (fishing, sailing, speed boat, kayaking) and all the skills and island knowledge. Whatever you want to do, they'll lay it on for you. Alternatively, you can just do your own thing.

Our recommendation is to budget a little bit extra and make your stay all the more memorable by asking Karoll and Nick to take you out on adventures. For example, they took us by speed boat to a bay where I swam with turtles (lots of them!).
Yet now I live on a neighboring island, snorkel every day, and haven't spotted another one since! We will return again to Reefview and we are most happy to give the place our full endorsement.

Dear Karoll & Nick,
Thanks so much for having us and making our stay so enjoyable. Thanks to your hospitality it was more like staying with friends than in rental accommodation. As for your animals, well you know that Cassi-pus was in danger of being kitty-napped! Thanks for the wealth of local knowledge and interesting historical facts. Thanks to Nick for his excellent “Captain” skills and a fun day snorkeling and chasing stingrays – “CRIKEY”!

You are more than welcome to visit us in Oz and hopefully we can repay some of your hospitality. Thanks for sharing your “Chappies” secret – It was easily our favorite bar in Antigua!

We had so much fun touring this island by bus, very crazy bus drivers, we met lots of friendly people and found out there everyday life! Karoll and Nick are perfect hosts, they’re lovely, and took care of us - proposing interesting itineraries and cooking a special dinner for us. We loved the atmosphere here at the Reef: Such amazing colors, animal concerts and beautiful flora and fauna! Hope to come back again and certainly send lots of our friends here!!! Thank you for your company Nick & Karoll!!!!

“365 BEACHES!”

Very peaceful place and so good staff!! Thank you very much to Nick and Karoll and also this beautiful island and its people. Probably Antigua does not have 365 beaches as the book says, but it is a paradise!!
Thank you again.

We had fabulous vacation in Antigua. Especially the fishing trip was most memorable. Karoll and Nick went to great lengths to make us feel comfortable. The apartments are close to the fishing village of Urlings, and it was wonderful to mingle with the local villagers and experience their lifestyle on the island. When you book an all inclusive package you do not really get to know the people . This island is so friendly that we loved wandering around and hiking through the countryside and along the white sand beaches.

The food was excellent and my special 50th birthday celebration unforgettable, thank you for the champagne! Shirley Heights, and OJ’s were great for those that appreciate good musicians. My final thanks to Nick who filmed us snorkeling and diving underwater when we saw a beautiful eagle ray as well as a plethora of other lovely colored fish and corals.

We’ve had a fantastic holiday – been here a fortnight and WISH WE HAD ANOTHER WEEK!
We particularly enjoyed Dennis’s Restaurant, Half Moon Bay and the ice cream parlour at Willikies. The apartment was spacious and airy and accommodated all four of us easily it was great. Many thanks.
