Just left Reefview and miss it already

I write you from the United waiting lounge at Antigua airport. Karoll just dropped me off. I am fighting the impulse to reschedule my flight, taxi back to the ReefView penthouse, run down to the beach, catch the sunset over Cades Bay, eat Karoll’s key lime pie, and ply Nick with questions about fishing, sailing and diving, all of which he will answer with profound expertise…. If you want New York accommodations with artificial island extract added, go for the hotels. But if you want an authentic Antigua holiday, hosted by a couple whose two decades experience are available to you just by yelling “Karoll” or “Nick” from the porch, this is your destination.

Small village + local experience = authentic Caribbean

We stayed in the garden cottage. This was perfect for us as not only was it cute and cosy we had a decked patio outside with table and chairs, inside a sofa, small kitchenette, and an upstairs with two separate double beds and boom! – the outside shower! Or the Love shack as its called!
Karoll and Nick the proprietors live on site and are always there to check in on us and give us advice on where to go and what to see. This personal touch you would not get in the large hotels. Just to highlight this Karoll arranged for a hire car to be delivered to us at the cottage. I was too hot in the room so Karoll gave me a large fan within minutes of me saying this! Nothing was too much trouble we were made to feel more than welcome. It was nice to stay local and off the tourist track, as we got to sample the delicious, bargainliciois food at chappies, a 2 min walk from the cottage. We were two single females and felt very safe here.

You'll Want To Keep It a Secret

This property was accurately described, clean and well maintained. The location away from the tourist areas, the long deserted beach on which to stroll, and the convenient bus transportation to the ‘tourist’ areas and restaurants, were added bonuses. Karoll greeting us at the airport was the start of an excellent holiday. She and Nick were most hospitable, and catered excellent meals at a very reasonable extra cost.

Karoll knew the best local restaurants, beaches and sights, she made sure we got to see what we wanted. Nick’s snorkeling expedition was truly spectacular. If you want to get away from the crowd, but not the conveniences, this place is great and so are the friendly couple who run it.

Great Value for Families

“My family (husband 2 boys 8, 12) traveled to Antigua for 2 weeks 28th April – 12th May and stayed in the Garden Apartment… I would highly recommend Reefview Apartments: perfect for families, close to a safe beach and near some of the best beaches, lots of beach equipment to use; the Kayaks were great fun, Nick taught the kids to snorkel and then use the 007 seadoos which they loved, Eating breakfast on the patio and look at the blue sea and seeing all the hummingbirds was beautiful, bus service cheap and reliable, reasonably priced eateries nearby, the apartment was clean comfortable and well equipped.”

REEFVIEW APARTMENTS - BEST HOLIDAY EVER!

Staying at Karroll & Nick’s Reefview Apartment was the BEST decision we made – a little Garden of Eden with beautiful flowers and plants – friendly animals and treasures from the sea everywhere. “Keeshie” greeted us as we walked through the gate. The Penthouse Apartment is so clean and cheerful with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. Very close to the beach where you can walk down and swim, snorkel or just enjoy the sunset.

The snorkeling and fishing just off the beach was amazing

Me and my partner just got back from a wonderful 2 week stay in the Penthouse of Reefview Apartments. The snorkeling and fishing just off the beach was amazing I caught big snapper in the evening which we cooked on our own campfire. There is no light pollution so the stars were wonderful.
we saw octopus, turtles, lobsters and so many tropical fish. we loved it as we are private people and had the beach to ourselves most days. One evening a big turtle came up on the beach and layer her eggs. Karoll was very excited as she is a turtle volunteer and immediately called it in to the turtle hotline. it’s a shame we could not stay long enough to see the hatchlings. we had never seen that before so it was pretty cool. Got into kite surfing and paddle boarding whilst we were there.
We would definitely recommend it oh and the BBQ welcome dinner was yummy.

“You will definitely feel like this is your own home when you stay at the “Reef View Apartments” in Cades Bay. The house is in excellent condition, spotless and well maintained, well ventilated. All utilities are in perfect working order and Nick and Karoll attend to your every need by phoning to book your car rental, dinner reservations or days excursion packages. The garden surrounding the villa is unbelievable, with tropical flowers in abundance and numerous kinds of birds surrounding you.

I would rather stay at this charming house in the countryside, than any of the over priced resorts on the Island which we discovered to be less friendly and quite impersonal. The house is in the valley, surrounded by the Shekerley Mountains, but only moments walk to the long sandy beach. I highly recommend these apartments to anyone who is looking for the real Antigua experience. Enjoy!!”

Fantastic Boat Trip

“My sister and I stayed at ReefView Apartments and having Nick & Karoll as our hosts was like having our own personal concierge. They cooked a super BBQ the first night there, and they made us feel like family coming in for a visit. We booked a snorkeling trip with Captain Nick, which was SO much better than getting on a boat with a ton of other tourists. Thanks so much for a wonderful time!”

Your own little paradise

I stayed at ReefView apartments for 2 and a half weeks with my fiancé.
I was lucky enough to stay in the cottage in what is like your own little paradise. The gardens are amazing, and then the cottage was just beautiful in such a lovely setting with everything we needed.
The beach is just amazing to walk along and see all the fantastic fish and sea life in such a secluded and natural space. One of the most beautiful quiet and enjoyable places I’ve stayed with fantastic local food nearby and really homely feel to the apartment.
I can recommend this as an excellent place to stay with everything that you need in the apartments, heavenly beach and sea space in 5 minutes what more could a caribbean holiday need.

ReefView Rocks!

The location here in Cades Bay is just fabulous if you love beach walks, hikes, snorkeling, nature and swimming which is why we went back again as it is a marine reserve protected area. The beach is literally just in front down the lane. We have observed so many tropical fish, turtles, octopus, squid, lobsters, starfish and rays during our very many snorkel trips and found some beautiful empty shells as we love beach combing. We often were the only ones on the beach which always makes this a very special place and there is now a private cabana plonked right next to the waters edge. This was also one of my favorite spots to sit with my tea in the morning watching the herons, gulls, pelicans, whistling ducks, and just gaze at the panoramic vista, and yachts sailing by.

I would highly recommend staying at Reef View Apartments in Cades Bay Antigua. Karoll and Nick are wonderful, thoughtful hosts and the accommodation is cozy, clean and bright! Absolutely everything they advertise in their ad is spot on!! Karoll is an awesome cook and will prepare a gourmet Caribbean treat for you if you let her know what kind of food you’re looking for. These apartments are for people who want a taste of the real Caribbean experience. A house in the country snuggled in the lush tropical jungle and only a short stroll to the beach. You will be overwhelmed by the huge selection of flowers, fruit trees and plants in the gardens surrounding the house.

The local neighbors are kind and helpful. The day after we arrived Karoll took us on a tour of the beach outside the apartments. Along the beach we discovered numerous starfish, an octopus, sea conchs, pelicans, hummingbirds and other brightly colored birds. Later that day up on the road outside our apartment we waited for only a few minutes before the local bus took us into Jolly Harbour where we were treated to one of the most beautiful beaches you could ever hope to find.

There was everything we needed at the Harbour including a supermarket to stock up on our food for the day, a dive shop where you can take up scuba diving, and a restaurant where you can warm your feet in the sand while you are waiting for your coconut prawns to arrive. With Karoll’s help and extensive knowledge of the Island, we spent everyday doing something fun and memorable. There are such a lot of things to do on Antigua I feel you need at least 2 weeks to stay there to truly experience the Caribbean way of life. We stayed for 5! I’m glad I chose this place to stay and can’t think of a nicer way to spend a holiday.
Thanks Karoll and Nick – you are both great Ambassadors for the Island!!
